Over the last few months, many have asked about changes in our plans for this year's show. Well, I'm here to tell you, we're committed to this show the city of Detroit and the success of our industry.

New vehicles and technologies help generate excitement and traffic to our showrooms. We shouldn't let current economic news cloud the great product news to be announced this week. Now, more than ever, while we are so focused on the pressing issues of the moment, let's not lose sight of our future.

Lexus Announces Safety Recall on Select Vehicles

Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. will launch a Safety Recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) involving approximately 214,500 Lexus vehicles sold in the United States.

On certain 2006 through 2008 model year GS300/350, IS250/350, and LS460/460L vehicles, Lexus has determined that some ethanol fuels with a low moisture content may corrode the internal surface of the fuel delivery pipes. If this condition occurs, the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) in the combination meter may illuminate. Over time, the corrosion may create a pinhole in the fuel delivery pipes resulting in fuel leakage

Lexus stages world debut of the new 2010 Lexus HS250h

Lexus today revealed the 2010 HS 250h, the world’s first dedicated luxury hybrid vehicle, at the North American International Auto Show. The HS 250h will be Lexus’ fourth hybrid and the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its lineup. It also will be the first Lexus to utilize carbon-neutral cological Plastic materials in a new futuristic cockpit and interior design.

A welcomed addition to Lexus’ entry-luxury sedan lineup, the HS 250h fits nicely between the IS luxury sport sedan and the ES luxury sedan. Research has shown that more than 60 percent of entry-luxury car buyers would have considered a hybrid if available, and the HS will provide these consumers with a viable purchase option.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Announces Dual-Brand Telematics Programs: Lexus Enform™ and Safety Connect™ Available in 2009

LAS VEGAS (January 7, 2009) – Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, Inc. today announced that it will launch its proprietary telematics systems in the year to come. The all-new systems will be available on select models with customized versions for both Lexus and Toyota brands.

Lexus Environmental Challenge Winning Projects

"The Dream Team" - W.R. Farrington High School, Honolulu, Hawaii:
This team of eight students focused on educating people around the world about the benefits of renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, solar panels, fuel cells, and hydropower. After learning about the potential positive impact of these alternative sources of energy, including gaining a solid understanding of fuel cell technology, the team spread their message worldwide through videos, blogs and a Web site in multiple languages. They also used social media Web sites to keep the conversation going.

Lexus And Scholastic Announce Winners Of The Lexus Environmental Challenge #4

Lexus Introduces Pebble Beach® Collection RX 350 and ES 350 at Chicago Auto Show

Lexus today introduced the Lexus Pebble Beach Collection of vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show. The RX 350 luxury utility vehicle and ES 350 luxury sedan will receive Pebble Beach Edition packages for the first time, extending a relationship with Pebble Beach Company that began in 2003 and has since produced an SC 430 Pebble Beach special edition luxury hardtop convertible every year.
